I just hate seeing Bing okay? Call me petty but I don't want to call myself a boomer every time I use the internet - regardless of the amount of bs and foolishness supporting my search engine prejudice. I haven't found a way to alter the home screen, and while yes, one could argue with the sidebar thing it doesn't matter, it matters to me. More likely is some sort of brilliant google marketing that has me convinced thus. it makes me feel like I'm driving a buggy in a world of cars and, though that very likely is a personal thing, and in no way reflect the capabilities of their search engine. However can anyone change the home screen? I just don't like bing. ![]() Though I do really like the sidebar feature on Sidekick. Saves a TON of computing juice without losing or having to self-organize. If anyone is just looking for a solution to the "too many tabs problem" Their is a free chrome extension called One-Tab that when clicked on will aggregate all your open tabs in that session of Chrome to a one page verticle list of clickable links. And just for mention, the pro version is more amazing than the free :)) Ps: You can get Sidekick browser Pro Lifetime if you invite 20 people and they make a free account. I used Stack (legacy) for years and the developers just recoded the whole thing. I just wanted to suggest another great app: Stack Next Browser. Need to write a fast email or check something? Split screen. My ultimate need was always the sessions managements and I always had to use extensions for it. You pin some good apps like Notion, TickTick etc. If you care about productivity, this is the one thing you need. Then I stucked with Vivaldi for years and I thought no other browser will change my mind (you can even change everything in Vivaldi with custom CSS!).Ī few weeks ago I find out about Sidekick and man. But anyways, I hope you find it fun and interesting to try new browsers as much as I do!Īlso if you could leave me some recommendations (apart from Chrome, Opera, FireFox, Brave and all the other "mainstream" browsers) I'd be forever grateful ^^įirst of all, I also love to try new apps/softwares, so I tried almost all browser I could find in about the last 5 years. At this point it looks as I'm promoting it as an affiliate but I'm truly not (idk if you can even be that?). Obviously the sidebar is not the only feature of the browser, it also has different sessions to you can switch to in order to have tabs grouped as you wish (work, school, gaming.) and native splitscreen tabs, but whatever. That's just an example, since you can do that already by going to the website and switching google accounts, but what about all the socials nets like Instagram, Twitter, Whatsapp, Reddit. And the other cool thing about the sidebar is that it can work as a bookmark tab too! I mean I just pin all my frequent pages there and de-clutter the top tab bar. For example take Gmail, I own several accounts and I can swap between them just by right clicking. If that app happens to be a web in which you can have an account, it lets you have multiple accounts just a click away. It basically let's you add any website as an "app". It reminds me to those from Opera and Vivaldi, but it's different. So I thought I could maybe give you a new browser for you to try and give me some opinions about it.Īs I said I've been using it for a while now and I love it, but my compulsive-intrusive thought of trying new browsers has come again :') What I like about Sidekick is the app sidebar. Even in this sub I just found a reply in a random post of someone mentioning it. I've been using Sidekick Browser for a while now, and I realised none of these pages talk about it. This is my first post in this sub! I've always liked to try different browsers and it was just a couple of minutes ago that I realised there could be a sub for that! Well, I was googling the typical "best alternative browsers", "top browsers you should try", to try and get my hands on a new browser. ![]()
